Trees

Several trees growing in the Wilderness

Trees are a very common object in the Wilderness.

Appearance[]

Trees in the Wilderness may vary in size and colour and have several types or species:

A regular tree, which appears like a thin pole with a bushy mass of leaves on top,

A pine tree, which has its iconic triangular shape,

A dead tree, with purple bark and many spindly branches devoid of leaves,

And a palm tree, with long, droopy leaves on top.

Spawning[]

Trees can be seen throughout the wilderness and even in the large open area in Heck. They can even spawn on top of various objects, such as the Fog Giants or Barns. They, just like the Monsters, may be Elite.

The type of tree that will spawn in a region will correspond to the local climate and "Good/Evil" balance, and can act as a tell for the player regarding the nature of the area they are in; for example, dead trees will spawn in biomes with high "Evil," such as the region surrounding the Evil Cabin, and palm trees will spawn in warmer regions.

Behavior[]

Trees are immobile, acting as set-dressing for the wilderness. Their leaves will wobble and their trunks will sway (in a rather unsettling way), but they will not move any further without player intervention. They can be attacked and destroyed to provide a limited amount of Juice. Destroying a tree is also guaranteed to spawn a Koalath.

Trivia[]

  • In earlier versions of Juice Galaxy, only one type of tree existed (the so-called "basic" tree), and they were all of the same size and color. The introduction of various tree types and elite variants occurred long after the initial release.
  • Very rarely, trees can be found having been "planted" in mid-air, and they can be destroyed normally. It's unclear how or why this occurs.
  • Due to Elite monsters having randomly generated names, elite trees randomly generate names due to their classification in the game.
