Sucking up a Polywog.
Sucking is a mechanic that can be unlocked after being turned into a vampire by the Vampire Bat, and will automatically be granted to the player after beating the Creator (if they were not turned beforehand).
Description[]
Sucking is performed by pressing "Q" near the body of a defeated enemy. The player can spit out any enemy that's being sucked by pressing "Q" again. The enemy is pulled in to the player's face and an audible slurping sound identical to Batty's can be heard while the action is performed. Sucked enemies also visibly shrink while being sucked until they disappear.
Sucked enemies grant health and JP to the player, with larger enemies (such as Dragins and Stroll Fiends) granting more JP than smaller ones. However, the rate at which the player sucks up enemies is linear, meaning that it will take longer to suck up larger enemies than it will small ones.

- Sucking up monsters is an incredibly effective way to restore health, especially in tight situations. If used properly, it can negate the need for upgrading your Health Regen stat.
- As sucking is affected by the size of the monster, defeating and sucking enemies in higher monster levels will yield higher amounts of JP and health as well.
- Your Future Self, while not considered an enemy, can still be sucked, which will give a large amount of JP.
