The Stinger Missile Launcher is a ranged weapon that fires homing, explosive Wawsp projectiles.
Appearance[]
It appears to be one of the Wawsp Queen's arm cannons, which has been forcefully torn off her body (made most obvious by the cartoon bone sticking humorously out of the back).
Location[]
The Raptorial Blade can be found in the chest in the Palpitating Palace. It is only dropped by enemies once the Wawsp Queen is defeated.
Description[]
The Stinger Missile Launcher fires flaming Wawsps that home in on enemies and explode on contact, dealing very high damage and setting enemies on fire. Despite its low fire rate, it has the highest dps of any ranged weapon. However, it is locked behind the Wawsp Queen boss fight, one of the hardest bosses in the game. Because of its low fire rate, it is very energy efficient; at max energy and energy regen, you have to spam click for your energy to start going down slightly.
This weapon is best used against single targets, as it's homing ability may cause the missiles to hit other enemies rather than the desired target. Also, when a missile is fired, it tends to veer upward, which makes it likely to miss enemies at long ranges unless the player is firing down from above.
Trivia[]
- This weapon is based on the real-world Surface-to-Air Missile launchers of the same name. However, their design in-game is a pun based on the Wawsp enemies, added in the same update as the weapon.
- The weapon's attacks are similar to the Wawsp Queen's primary attacking method - which makes sense, considering it is implied that the weapon is just a scavenged part of her body.
- The motif of the player taking and using pieces of the Wawsp Queen for combat purposes is also seen with the ability to wear the Wawsp Queen's Head as a helmet.
- Prior to V0.1.11, If the weapon is used while the weapon's scale was below 1.50 the Wawsps would explode as soon as they were supposed to exit the weapon, similar to the Ordinary Pineapple.
