The Raptorial Blade is a melee weapon with high base damage.
Appearance[]
It is a sword resembling a falchion, and has a blade that is grey-brown with yellow edges, similar to the colors of a Wawsp. The pommel and crossguard are orange, and the handle is bluish-grey with a spiral pattern.
Location[]
The Raptorial Blade can be found in the chest in the Palpitating Palace. It is only dropped by enemies once the Wawsp Queen is defeated.
Usage[]
The Raptorial Blade is tied for the highest damage of any melee weapon in the game, along with the Draginslayer, but as Mrs. Slitherss is usually fought before the Wawsp Queen, it is already outclassed by the larger Draginslayer by the time it is obtained. With a large enough scale, it can still be very useful as it has a lower mass than the Draginslayer and thus requires less arm power to swing easily.
Trivia[]
- "Raptorial" refers to the raptorial forelimbs on certain arthropods, including the wasp mantidfly which the Wawsp Queen is based off of. This combined with the weapon tooltip may imply that the Wawsp Queen originally had these claws, but they were replaced by Stinger Missile Launchers and turned into a sword. The Stinger Missile Launcher has a bone on the end, but as insects in real life have exoskeletons and not internal bones, it is unclear whether they are a biological part of the Wawsp Queen.
