Paewol is a neutral, and agressive if provoked, entity that appears in the demo version of Juice Galaxy that blocks off many of the game's features until Juice Galaxy is bought.
Appearance[]
Paewol is a large, pink and chubby creature with puffy blue hair and yellow lips containing a set of blue gums and blocky teeth. His attire resembles that of a traditional circus clown as he dons a rounded red hat and a circular blue nose. Paewol's limbs are colored dark blue and are much thinner in comparison to the rest of his body, sporting forked fingers akin to the arms of a snowman and padded feet on his legs.
Behavior[]
In the Demo Version, Paewol spawns at various areas and items which he renders inaccessible. Traveling far enough into the fog will reveal a massive energy dome which envelops the playable area and blocks off the player from traveling further or entering the Wawsp Nest. Running into the shield will spawn Paewol. Likewise picking up items which aren't allowed to be equipped in the demo version causes Paewol to spawn right atop them as well. He will never attack the player unless he is repeatedly attacked, and angering him causes his AI to flip a killswitch. During his aggressive state, Paewol attacks the player by conjuring massive explosive fireballs akin to the ones summoned by the Tiny Sun Grimoire.
In the Full Version, Paewol's default behavior consists of lumbering towards the player and staying put in front of them as if he is trying to block their path and doesn't spawn energy domes. Other than that, his NPC behavior remains exactly the same as in the demo version.
If Juice Galaxy has been bought, Paewol becomes powerless, and the player can finally beat him to death.
Trivia[]
- Paewol's name is a corruption of "paywall", as he blocks off most of Juice Galaxy's features until the player buys the game.
- Paewol's color seems to shift and change depending on the environment he is in. For example, his skin appears a more reddish orange color in areas with high amounts of evil. Although this is likely due to the game's lighting rather than a literal change in his model.
- Although he may appear to be invincible, Paewol can in fact be killed. One way of doing so is setting your damage to thousands of levels in the console commands and using a fire-based weapon like FrizzX and the Flamberge.
