"I really just don't know what I wanna do..." |
— Mr. Fox
Mr. Fox is a stationary, bipedal fox entity located at the top right corner of the Graveyard. As the player progresses through the game, he will move to the Evil Cabin and obtain more plot and lore significance.
Appearance[]
Mr. Fox has an orange pelt, a long pointy nose, long tapered limbs, and red sclera with orange irises. He also has two ears and has a muzzle lined with sharp fangs. He idly waves his arms back and forth and his size is subject to change depending on if the Player interacts with him or not. When visiting his dreams you will see a younger version of him called Lil Mr. Fox, who appears mostly the same, but is scaled down and dons a Rad Baseball Cap.
Gameplay[]
Mr. Fox is a stationary entity and will not follow the player. In older versions of the game he will deal damage to the Player if they touch him, and will increase in size as the player damages him (unless he dies on the first hit).
After defeating Mrs. Slithers, you find him in the Cabin, sleeping in its bed. The player can rest on the bed to enter a Dream Realm. Once there you will encounter a younger Mr. Fox (referred to in game as Lil Mr. Fox), who will give you a quest to gather 7 pages, each containing a note written by him. After gathering all 7 pages or during a premature encounter, the Player will fight the Dream Eater, an entity which haunts the dreams of Mr. Fox. After defeating it, Lil Mr. Fox will thank you, and after returning to the Cabin the player finds that Mr. Fox has moved into it.
Trivia[]
- If Mr. Fox is made larger through battery and the player dies, he will revert back to his normal size upon respawning.
- Even after being slain, Mr. Fox can still speak with the Player, but only once. He also maintains eye-contact at all times.
- When he was first added, his voice was a reused sound of a damaged Stroll Fiend. In later versions, he receives his own voice sound.
- In Version 0.0.9, his voice pitch is slightly raised.
- He will disappear if the Player goes too far away from the cemetery. It appears to be a bug since no other NPC, not even Ingot disappear if the Player leaves the graveyard.[Verify in latest update.]
- He is absent in the test version download.
- When Mr. Fox was first introduced, he is capable to deliver the Player some contact damage if they get too close to him. He was removed on V0.1.0 but later re-added on V0.1.1 as an NPC, and was unable to harm the player. In Version 0.1.7, the ability to damage the Player was re-added.
- In a few now-outdated game versions, entering the command "
spawn monster
" into the console summons an entity identical to Mr. Fox in appearance. It, however, moves by flopping around and makes a low-pitched Pollywog noise when hit.- It is probably a bug or placeholder, since killing the entity causes the game to crash.

- Mr. Fox's character has changed drastically over the game's development history. Initially, he acted as a passive-aggressive entity that was sarcastic and seemingly malicious. However, this has been subsequently altered by Fishlicka, to the point that the first version's Mr. Fox has few similarities to his current version in all but appearance.
- In version 0.1.8 he talks as quite a friendly person and expresses his wish to open up a store in future, highly likely hinting to the developer's intention to add some kind of a financial system and shopping into the game in the next updates. He still drains juice from player if they hit him with their body (it causes contact damage both to the player and Mr. Fox) and grow when it happens, but nothing else hostile comes from this character. Most probably he will become a trader and his functions will expand.
- The notes you collect in Mr. Fox's Dream reveal him to be a former student of Mrs. Slitherss who escaped just like the player. They also document a series of abuses upon him by Mrs. Slitherss, including getting lasered for answering a question wrong (Which Slitherss also does to the player if they get an incorrect answer in the game's opening), not being able to see his family, and being starved. The notes say the following (the slashes in between the sentences written below are supposed to represent separate "paragraphs", if that makes any sense):
- Page 1: WRITTEN APPOLOGY BY LIL MR FOX / IM SORRY I DID IT / IVE BEEN REELY STRESSED OUT AT SKOOL CAUSE
- Page 2: I DONT WANNA DO THE REEDING / BUT YOU GUYS MAKE ME DO IT ANY WAY AND I HATE IT CAUSE IT SUCKS / I DONT WANNA REED
- Page 3: OLD BOORING STORIES ABOUT DUMB FARM ANIMALS / AND THER STOOPID POLITIKS, I DONT CARE ABOUT THE SOSHAL COMENTARY OR IMPLIKASHONS
- Page 4: LIKE, I JUST WANNA CHILL AND YOU GUYS ARE ALWAYS TELLING ME TO REED WHEN I COULD BE VIBING / YOU GIVE ME THIS BIIIG OL LIST OF
- Page 5: STUFF TO DO EVERRY DAY LIKE ITS NOT ENUFF THAT I LIVE IN CLASS AND I DONT EET MUCH AND DONT GET TO C MY FAMILY
- Page 6: AND YOU LAZER MY BUTT IF I SAY THE WRONG STUFF / LIKE, AM I LAZERING YOU WHEN YOU CALL ME MR DOG? / NAW! I DONT LAZER
- Page 7: PEOPEL! / ANNEWAYS, SORRY I OPENNED THE DOOR AND SORRY I LEFT. / LOVE, LIL MR. FOX
- From these notes, it can be assumed that Lil' Mr. Fox was in (around) 1st or 2nd grade (or grade school) at the time of the dream because of the grammar (and, of course, it's Lil' Mr. Fox). We can also assume that the player is presumably young (i.e same teacher, the player can't really leave unless the door is opened, recess...).
- By making the koaladog a very large size in the dream world, you can actually kill Lil Mr. Fox. This is likely a bug.
