The Hydrangela is an entity and NPC that has appeared in pre-release update footage posted by Fishlicka and has been mentioned by them. It was added in Version 0.1.11

Description

The Hydrangela is a talking/singing flower with two eyes on its pseudanthium (flower head) and seven striped petals that are constantly waving back and forth. It is particularly large, being several times the height of the normal character by default. Hydrangelas notify their presence though the use of loud singing that can be heard so long they are in render distance.

Upon being approached by the player, it will sing a song asking for the player to give them Juice. The player can then give the Hydrangela Juice in the same way they would give the Juice Door juice (i.e. by spitting it out loudly). Juice that the Hydrangela receives causes it to grow rapidly, ballooning in height. Killing Hydrangela after feeding them Juice will reward you with even more Juice than you had previously given (Although it could also be negative).

Larger Hydrangelas tend to have lower pitched "voices" than their smaller counterparts, and are replaced by more Hydrangelas upon death.

Trivia

• The name of this entity is a play on the names of a flowering plant genus and a common female first name being mashed together; these two are the Hydrangea genus and the name "Angela" respectively.
  • The latter gives credence to the notion of this entity being female, despite the fact that flowers often contain both male and female reproductive organs.
• It is also possible that the name Hydrangela holds reference to the Hydra, a Greek mythological creature that grew two heads every time one was cut off. Hydrangelas that are relatively large, either through default spawning or having been grown by players, spawn more of their kind when they are defeated.
• All Hydrangelas are Elite, allowing each a unique name and colouration.
• The Hydrangela was teased before the release of Version 0.1.8, but it took several versions (Version 0.1.11, according to Fishlicka) before it was actually implemented.
