Description[]

Gravestones are enemy spawning objects, located in the graveyard, to the left of the Juice Fountain when viewed from the graveyard's entrance. They are similar to the Holy Hammer statue and Crates.

Information[]

Gravestones function as spawn points for one or more Skelly enemies when destroyed. They are very similar to crates, in that they have low health and are completely stationary, along with their models disappearing when destroyed, preventing them from being sucked. The only notable differences in functionality between crates and gravestones are that gravestones only spawn Skellies when destroyed, whereas crates can spawn a variety of different enemies or items.

Gravestones can be spawned with a command code, but they never spawn on the ground; instead, they spawn horizontally in the air, and cannot be moved once spawned.

In game versions prior to 0.1.6 the gravestones would play a central role in unlocking the Skull Helm. The player needed to kill all the Skellies spawned from the gravestones to be able to obtain the helm. This was changed when the looting and inventory systems were added, allowing the Skull Helm to be randomly dropped by slain enemies.

Trivia[]

  • Gravestone models might be the simplest models in the game.
  • Gravestones will make a unique, detuned piano noise when destroyed, likely to compliment the spooky effect of several Skellies rising from their graves.
