The Good Juice is a melee weapon that can be drunk to restore the player's health and energy.
Location[]
The Good Juice can be found on top of a pedestal in a corner of The Graveyard.
Usage[]
Upon grabbing the item, there is a prompt to quaff the juice. If the player accepts, a short animation will play and the item will vanish, seemingly devoured. The player will receive 30 juice and quickly regenerate health and energy during the animation. If the player is not a vampire and is in The Graveyard, Batty will spawn, babbling about the player's juice. After he is finished talking, Batty will vacuum up the player and begin to suck the player's juice, slowly draining it to zero. After this bizarre ritual is complete, the player will be spat out and gain the ability to suck the corpses of monsters as a juice vampire.
Appearance[]
The Good Juice is a round bottle with a cork on the finish. It contains high quality juice that seems to attract juice bats. The bottle itself has a blueish tint and a reflective glass texture. The juice in the bottle rapidly swirls and changes through the colors of the rainbow.
Trivia[]
- When this item hits something at a high enough speed, it will make a glass tinking noise.
- This is the only item in the game that has a button prompt when picked up.
- It's also the only item that is a one-time use, as it shrinks and disappears when the player is done quaffing.
- This item was added to make the process of transforming into a vampire more voluntary, as prior to Version 0.1.0 Batty would automatically spawn and transform the player into a vampire once they accumulated a certain number of juice points. It is likely that this change was done in order to incentivize the use of the Holy Hammer, whose health-restoring effects only work on non-vampires.
- If the player switches to a different weapon while they're quaffing the Good Juice, the sound will continue to play endlessly, and it will go into the player's inventory.
- The Good Juice can be swung like a melee weapon, but because it is intended to be consumed and is held at an awkward angle for combat, it is not very useful for such a purpose, although its clones will roll across the ground if the Copy Weapon Grimoire is used.
