The Flamberge is a melee weapon that deals fire damage. It was the first weapon to implement the Fire mechanic.
Appearance[]

A comparison between the Flamberge and the Rune Longsword.
It is a reddish-orange sword with a rippled blade and a deep red handle, and is of roughly the same proportions as the Rune Longsword. When swung, the blade emits many cylindrical particles that emit light, meant to resemble fire. The particles are a transparent orange and vary in brightness depending on how many overlap due to the camera angle. The larger the scale of the weapon, the more particles are emitted from it. Additionally, the particles will only appear when the sword is held in the player's hand.
Its appearance and namesake are heavily based off of real-life flamberge swords.
Usage[]
The Flamberge applies the Fire status effect on hit, which will deal damage over time to enemies before automatically extinguishing. The total damage dealt by the fire is the same as the damage from the hit. Because its base damage is 1.00, this effectively gives the weapon a damage stat of 2.00, which is below average and makes it worse than any other melee weapon other than the Plunger. Any damage effects from searing or arcing juice scale off of the base damage, making them less effective than if the damage was actually 2.00.
Trivia[]
- The first video previews for the Fire system were done using this weapon- although, at the time, fire damage had yet to be implemented, and it was an entirely visual effect.
- The Arc Fork can be considered the electrical counterpart to the Flamberge.
